I know there are a lot of fitness experts here and I'm hoping someone will be willing to help me set up a plan to get in better shape. I'm 28 years old and weigh 182 lbs, but I would like to get down to 155-160. I can handle the better diet part needed to help lose weight, but I need some help in the excercise department. I want to lose fat in by stomach, sides, and chest. I want to add muscle mass and strength in my arms, chest, and shoulder area. I don't have the genetics to get really toned and I've long since accepted the fact that I'm never gonna have sqaure pecs and a six pack. Unfortunately, a gym membership or expensive equipment aren't an option right now. Here's what I have to work with: Dumbbells Multi-postion bench (90, incline, flat, decline) Stationary bike Walking shoes Willpower Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

There's plenty you can do with just some dumbbells, and expensive gym memberships are overrated anyway. I would add an olympic barbell and plates to your equipment, and find a place you can do pull ups/chin ups. The crossfit program is good for general, all-round conditioning. If you want to focus on strength I would recommend the Mark Rippetoe starting strength program. |
