Okay. I'm in the process of designing a desktop. I've got most everything picked out, but now I need a Power Supply. I don't know a whole lot about power supplies, and I understand minimal information about them (basic stuff as in multiple 12V rails can be good to have, but on well-made PSUs they're not necessary, but I don't understand what that means. Also, I don't know anything about SLI, etc.) My main criteria are: Cost Reliability Cleanliness of cables. I'd like seperate cables, instead of the huge bundle. Round cables with a fabric coat is a plus, but not necessary. I want it to look nice and prohibit airflow as little as possible. I'd also prefer it to be black to match the system's color. I'd really like it to be available on Newegg, so when ordering time comes, I can order it with the rest of my goodies. FTR I'm not interested in overclocking or anything. I'm not sure how much power I need. I'm hoping you guys can help me figure that out with the list below. The following is the list of components I have so far (linked to Newegg product page): Case: Antec 900 ATX Mid-Tower MoBo: ASUS P5W CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.66 GHz GPU: EVGA GeForce 8600GT 256MB, PCI Express x16 SLI supported HDDs: 2x Samsung SpinPoint T series, 500GB SATA 3Gb/s Audio: Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Fatal1ty, PCI DVD-R: 2x ASUS DVD+/-R with Lightscribe, SATA RAM shouldn't matter, but it will just be 2x 1 GB, or 2x 2 GB DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Thanks in advance Edited for formatting issues |
