I have about $800 max to play with right now. I want something fun but can't quite decide on what to get. The farthest I can shoot is 250m, so I prefer smaller calibers. Any suggestions?

Get a mini mill, and a 80% lower

I think I can still run 250m and I could use 800 bucks.

Put it away til you can get something nicer, such as a Sig MPX or a Bren805 and throw an SBR on it.

I shoot my 17 more than most of my other guns combined. Amazingly fun rifle, and suppressed makes all the difference in the world.

Silver isn't very fun to shoot. I have a pound and it just sits there. I can't even figure out how to load it.

Is that do-able for $800?

Someone needs to make an MP5 in 9mm for under $1k.

Yeah one J-frame but it sucks.

Anything bigger than .38 is going to get expensive. I'll be getting my uncle's Python when he passes, which may not be too far off.

it's good to be well rounded.  How about other stuff, like:

Ham license and radio
Basic food storage
Armor
Night vision
Medical supplies
Put it towards a 4wd or upgrades for your vehicle
Home security system

Any of those sound fun?

I was going to say S&W 686 but if a Python is coming I wouldn't, I don't like redundancy though.

I almost bought a PVS-14 a few weeks ago, but decided to spend some money on a better USPSA gun and a second carry gun instead. Now it's out of my price range.

I'm in college so nothing storage or security related would really work.

I could probably use it for a tune or better exhaust for my car (S4), but I want to trade it off anyways in the near future.

No clue what a ham license is, but I really like pork so that sounds like fun.

Camo clothing, packs, general camping supplies, arrows, boots, knives, calls, and of course the guns and ammo. Can't ever have too much of any of that stuff.

After thinking I finally had too many ARs ( ) I put together a build in .458 socom. Yeah buddy! A hoot too shoot for sure. I opted for a 10.5" barrel and a sig brace. Its a pistol.. So yea, great fun in the AR platform, but if you don't reload its not for the light wallet...
