I'm not a very tactical guy, but most of the tactical setups I see make sense.   I just don't get this one.  At first I thought it was a joke, but then  I started to think it wasn't.

What scenario would this be ideal?

And if you notice, the  bayonet lug has a rail too which means you could put another bayonet lug on it.

i don't know about the knife, but if you get in an intimate pistol fight the badguy can disable your gun by pushing the slide back enough.   that is generally what the "anti press check" thingys are for.
