Noob on Excel. Trying to add 10% to a cell and can't figure it out.
Halp! |

Quoted:
Yeah I must be doing something wrong. Tried that. The number is coming out weird. The original number in the cell is 3500 Putting in the formula it comes out as 385000.0% The 3850 part is correct, but why the extra zeros and the %? You need to check the formatting for the cell ETA: "Oh yea, my name is johnh57, I'm a '13er and 8 seconds faster then Tulcat"

Right click on the cell Format cell Under the Number tab, click on number. In the option to the right, reduce the decimal places to zero. Hit OK |

You have the format of the cell set to %, right click on it and there should be a format option. Left-most tab, change it to just a number and to drop the 0. The extra zeroes I can only imagine that you had the formula wrong, redo it.
ETA - Beat by a minute, I suck on my phone. |
