I'm looking to replace the tires on my Suburban. I am currently running 16.5" wheels (Currently with 39" Swampers). Since I need new tires, and the 16.5", I've been looking at changing wheels also. Is the market for larger 16" tires dead? I've been looking for something around the 35"-37" height tires, and there are not many choice available for 16" wheels. And for some reason tires that fit 17" wheels are $100 more than one's that fit 15". So either I can bite the bullet and go with 17's, try and find some humvee tires from someone who doesn't think they are gold, or go cheap with 15" and grind the fuck out of my front brake calipers.

I am personally not a fan of 17's. 315/75R16 (35s) are pretty plentiful. Big O shows 31 options, discount shows 23. The only nice thing about 17's is companies are now making 35x17 and 37x17, but they are expensive! They do seem to be the way the market is going. I just went to 15's on my Jeep.

16" is a bitch to find non-metric tires for. 16.5 will give you all kinds of options in the 35-37's range, as will 15, 17, 18.
