(Re: Colateral) The scene in.the alley, How did that play out as far as rounds delivered?

Bad guy on the left, How many shots/ hits. Bad guy on the right, how many shots/hits
I have a bet .

Did Vincent move from tango to tango in any order?   I know he did.... just want to hear it from the pros.

Oh, the bet is oral sex. (as advised)

pushes scumbag 1's pistol away, double taps to the chest from the hip.  scumbag 2 does a laughable attempt to act like his pistol hung up in his pants, he gets a mozambique drill(2 chest, 1 head) then cruise retreives the bag and puts one into scumbag 1's head.

Engaged the most immediate threat first (BG with weapon out).  Two shots center mass and he starts to drop.  Then the other BG is engaged as he tries to draw.  Two shots and he is still standing so he transitions to failure drill (one more to the melon).  He then finishes off the first BG (one shot to the melon) who is still moving and presumably within arms reach of his weapon.

I don't think the second BG was "still standing" as much as "hadn't even had time to fall down yet"

The whole thing is like two and a half seconds from start to finish.. very sobering.

Googling for Mozambique Drill (I knew what it is, but not how it got that name), I found this:

home.sprynet.com/~frfrog/mozam.htm

It has a catchy little song too.

So far you guys have it wrong -

It was a single shot to the chest of immediate threat (BG on left), then double tap to the BG on the right, then one more in the chest of downed BG number one as he turns to walk away.

which is precisely why they both had holes in their heads in the morgue scene right?

Alright, I was wrong.

I just popped it in the computer and watched that scene.

They were both down after five shots - BG #1 on the left gets double tapped, BG #2 gets two to the chest and one to the head.

A sixth shot is fired into BG #1 as he lays on the ground.

ETA: In the morgue scene we are only shown three bodies - one old guy that the detective doesn't care about, then BG #2 from the alley, and finally, the rich bigwig that Cruise's character wasted when he came to the door.

Incidentally, those last two were the only ones with holes in their heads.

Yeah, I showed that to my fiance after we went shooting for the first time as an example of what a real gunfight might look like.  No "shoot them in the leg" or "shoot the gun out of their hand" crap.

Well, that is hard to call. Let's go through it and assign points for each thing that was correctly guessed.

Cruise did knock the gun out of the hand of the guy on the left (one point for you) and double tap him (another point), but he put more than one shot into the guy on the right (no points assigned).

Gun was removed from the hand of guy on left after it was knocked away (one point for Mr Reaganerea). He then double taps same BG, not a single shot (no points assigned).  Then he turns and shoots at the other BG with two to the body/one to the head (one more point for MR Reaganera).

Result: A tie - two points each.

Sorry
