| So what's the hives thoughts on this movie? Personally I think it's great. It's no Blues Brothers, but I'll watch it whenever it's on. |

Great movie! Jack Black is superb as the foul-mouthed, musically-elite record shop employee. I love the scene when he tells the Dad looking for "I just called to say I love you" he has no idea who is daughter is. It's painfully true. He was buying that for his tastes, not hers.
The other scene I love is in Rob's apartment with Dick, when he's sorting his records "autobiographically", assigning each record to a time it was purchased, or for who it was purchased. Lol! A great double-bill Sat night would be High Fidelity followed by Grosse Pointe Blank. Both had a very interesting, but vulnerable protagonist, which he plays extremely well. |

The soundtrack is great, just one of those movies in which everyone is fukd up in some way. But yet they get through life and make the best of it. Jack Black and John Cusack played their parts perfectly. Link to soundtrack playlist https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLGHPKxQfd4KVQWCaVbTX3IjW1NYc3Egf4 |

Jack Black makes the movie it's probably his best role and that's not saying much No, his best role was in the Jackal when Bruce Willis blew him to bits with a Russian autocannon. Best. Jack Black. Scene. EVER. |

I've basically met everyone from that movie at whatever local used CD store over the years. |
