My personal best was a PI with a BAC of .41%.  Highest OWI I have had was .36%.  I read the following article and wanted to see if anyone could best this one:

height=8

Bulgarian doctors tested a man's blood-alcohol level five times before accepting it was 0.914 – nearly twice the amount considered to be life-threatening.

The 67-year-old man landed in hospital on Dec. 20 after a car knocked him off his feet in the southern Bulgarian city of Plovdiv, police and doctors said Tuesday.

A breath test indicated blood-alcohol levels so high that police thought their equipment was broken, because the man remained conscious and talked with them.

The head of Plovdiv police, Col. Angel Rangelov, said five separate lab tests taken the same day confirmed the man's blood-alcohol level of 0.914.

A blood-alcohol level of 0.55 is considered potentially fatal.

In comparison, the Bulgarian man's level was more than 11 times higher than the legal blood-alcohol limit for drivers in Canada, which is 0.08.

The man, who has not been identified, was reported to be in stable condition after being treated for head injuries.

That's a career drinker. The highest I've seen was .542 in ICU. My highest DWI was a paltry .348, burbon drinker. She nailed all the Field Sobriety test except the HGN. Can't fool that one.

The OWI I had at .36% was walking and talking fine but also failed HGN.  She had just been released from prison that year for hitting and killing a jogger on a previous OWI.  She had been in prison for 5 years so I couldn't charge her with a felony (in Indiana a 2nd OWI in 5 years is a felony charge).  The only reason it had been over 5 years wsa because she hadn't had the opportunity to drink and drive again.

To combat the monstrous hangover he would have for the next 3 days.

When I worked at the local ER they had a career drinker come through with a 750 BAC. that would be around a .70 on a breathalyzer. He was a PIA to the Illinois people up until his demise last year.

Tango, you probably know who I am talking about. Male, Native American always wore black. LOL.  If you don't you are one of the few in northern Illinois that haven't run into this guy.

.32% is the highest that I have ever personally had, but I know of other guys that have had a lot higher.  It's pretty hard to beleive how intoxicated some people get.

.420 on a guy who made a right turn and fell out of his pickup and into the middle of the intersection. PD Officer at stop sign across from him.

.737 on an attempted suicide. Didn't work. However, he was in the hospital for 3 weeks in a coma.

Don't think I have ever blown above a .35, but this was on an uncalibrated/ bar type analyzer.

But I did wake up on a sidewalk.  (Had no car, so no worries of driving).

not PD but we had a DUI fatality accident earlier this year that killed 5 people. the state just relesed the findings and the driver of the SUV and the front seat pass.(both died) had a BAC of .31. 2 other people in this SUV and a 2 year old in another truck were also killed. one pass. in the SUV was priority 1 to norfolk general was in ICU for weeks after the crash. the mother of the child was in the local hospital for 2 weeks 1 of which was ICU. bartender was fired because he told police the driver had been drinking when the rest of the staff at the bar told the PD they had not been drinking to try and protect themselves(the bar) and to make the family of the driver feel better because they are local rich people. driver of the SUV also had the active ingredients of marijuana in his system. along with that they had 3 cases of beer still sealed as well as several lose beers in the pass. compartment. that bar has since shut its doors for good. the bad part is the family of the driver held a fund raiser for the boy that lived, guess where they had it?    at the bar the family owns. encourage drunks to come and party and celebrate being drunk to help someone hurt in a DUI accident. great morals there.

Mine was a .41.  She was an old lady who crashed into a parked car at a shopping center parking lot.  She was very functional.  Obviously a life-long drinker.

I had a lady who crashed her car into a tree several years ago with a .43...and that was about 2 hours after the collision...it was a very busy night and there was a line to use the IO machines, and we have 5, not to mention the mobile IO bus which has several.
