Story: www.newswatch50.com/mostpopular/story.aspx?content_id=53FD501C-6613-458A-9A79-A32718096F2C Poll: www.newswatch50.com Hey guys check out the poll on the mid left hand side of the webpage and this story/video. Kind of interesting. It is about forming a militia at this college. I don’t feel it is needed but it does push a pro gun message. It cool this came up at such a liberal institution by the minority republicans there. All State Schools in NY make it illegal to have guns or even "weapons" on campus. You can however store them at the police station on campus. This is of course un-constitutional and total BS but that is the way it is, for now. This is one small way to show people not everyone feels that is how it should be. Hit this poll! Sorry I got so excited I forgot the link. |
| Same here at Washington State. Even though there are no laws that prohibit firearms on campus (whether CPL or otherwise), the state-run University prohibits them. If an institution receives state money, they should have to abide by the State's consitution. It's bullshit. |

umm I am in NY, I contacted the President of my college asking for permission to store a rifle and ammo on campus with UPD....he said I had to be interviewed by the UPD officer in charge. I gave up trying to jump through hoops and being contacted back long after I originally wrote him.... something tells me they wouldnt let me store a AK clone rifle on campus... ![]() this is a STATE university by the way...not private. and yes , NY sucks |
They are not in Oregon, and in the Commonwealth of Virginia your allowed to have a firearm on a college campus. I kept my M1A and AR on campus all year for the past two years. The university claimed it was illegal, but I got a letter signed by the commonwealth attorney saying otherwise. -Ben |

Nice job with the poll guys. You came through again. Even if guns were allowed on campus I dont know that I would bring them. (I guess I would have one in the back of the car.) But what pisses me off is that the state thinks they are above the bill of rights. It is not like it a "gun free" zone. All the campus cops are armed with glocks. But I guess those are the only people they trust. "There the only ones professional enough to carry the Glock four-tay" |
