Personally, I think that the Senate should have a very strong Republican majority, the House should have a Strong Democratic majority and an independent (McCain is the closest to an independent in this race) in the White House. That poll does not have that kind of break-down. My rationale for this is that for any laws to get passed, both the conservative and the liberal factions of this country must compromise, or the that the proposed law would be universal to all. When I've mentioned this to others in the past, I've heard the complaint that nothing would get done in Washingon. This is not true. It would prevent at lot of things that shouldn't get done which commonly are in cases where one side has the majority in both Houses and the White House. |
