I am looking into a Hogue Overmolded stock for my .30-06. This started by wanting to bed the action and float the barrel in the factory stock. I ran across these stocks on the .net and see they offer a "pillar bedded" stock for $100 and a "full length bedding block" stock for just shy of $200. Question being will this be close to or just as good as bedding and floating the old stock/action/barrel? Keeping in mind this is not a "target" gun it is my hunting gun and would just like to up my odds on a 500 yard shot a bit. Here is the stock LINK Any input would be great. Thanks |

There's nothing wrong with pillar bedding either. It works for Savage and I have a 10FP in 223 with the factory plastic stock that shoots scary good with several weights and brands of bullets. I had a tang safety Ruger in 6.5 x 284 that would do about anything I needed it to but don't have any direct experience with the MII. |
