I was in great company on T-day when so many of you worked out with me that day. Now I've come up with the idea for the Holiday challenge. It's pretty simple. Work out on Christmas Eve, Christmas, New year's Eve, and New Year's Day. Post up after each Holiday passes with your workout. Even if it's simple it still counts. The people who work out on all holidays will get bragging rights until the next holiday season!

12 days of Christmas this morning. 46:20 Edited the RX'd version to how I was able to scale it. "12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS" 1 Single Hand Snatch (left hand/right hand = 1 rep) 35lb dumbbell 2 dips 3 Burpees 4 Pull-ups 5 Knees to Elbows 6 Push-ups 7 Air-Squats 8 Stationary lunges (left leg, right leg = 1 rep) 9 Box Jumps (20" for Men & Women) 10 10' Wall-Balls (20#) 11 KBS (1 pood) 12 Thrusters (65#) This workout is done just like the song....Round 1 = 1 Christmas Power Snatch, Round 2 = 2 Ring Dips and 1 Power Snatch ....etc. Until all 12 rounds are complete. |

I walked to the guy yesterday and today. I took it easy both times as I'm not feeling the best right now. Last night was DLs and pull downs. Today was just some light shoulder work. Hopefully I'm feeling up to speed in the next couple of days. This cold or whatever it is has been coming on for a week and a half now. I wish my immune system would make up it's mind.

Yesterday I did an hour of Yoga (p90x2) and today is was core and balance for an hour. I drank too much beer last night and ate too much crap today to take the days off. It was tempting though, since I got to bed about 1 am and my two boys woke us up at 0430 telling us that Santa had brought their presents. I kinda felt bad making them go back to bed, but it was a long day for them anyway. And I was tired.

Played some fun games and did some strongman stuff with my buds at the gym this afternoon. Went for a short bike ride too since I got the wife a new Felt. Back On the Program tomorrow... More details on this purchase are required. Not sure how you resisted Cervelo's current deal - buy 2 from the same dealer, get $2000 off. Felt makes a quality product though. Hope she enjoys. |

We decided to go with a AL frame, with less experience and moving around and stuff we were both a little hesitant to drop so much on a bike then do something to wreck the frame. So I got her this: We get a pretty solid discount at the shop we go to. I also picked up Speedplay pedals. What do you think?

What do you think? I think you did well. Cervelo doesn't have anything at that price point. I like the idea of a road bike for folks who want to do more with a bike than just race triathlons. I also like a road bike for those who may not be comfortable riding in the aero position a lot. I run SRAM Red on my road and tri bikes, but I have an Apex rear derailleur that I'll put on for mountain riding - longer cage so I can use a larger cassette to get my fat, old ass up the hills without blowing out a knee . Can't beat SoCal for year-round riding either.
Congrats on the purchase. |

Quoted: Thanks! She may end up getting a nicer one at some point, but seeing as riding is more of a hobby and neither of us are real serious racers, this one fits the bill. Plus it's shiny and red Quoted: What do you think? I think you did well. Cervelo doesn't have anything at that price point. Congrats on the purchase. ![]() Plenty of time for her bike addiction to grow. Make sure that she gets a good fit on the bike - super important.

Anyone else hitting the gym today or tomorrow? I already went this morning at 6am. Only one there...
Cardio tomorrow and back in the gym on Monday. Should be full of New Year idiots curling in the squat racks...
I guess you saw the GD thread about that. So much but hurt there that they even started a parody thread about it
I'm getting a "primal" workout in today. Digging out the craw space of an old house. This is kinda suckin. |

Just made it back from the gym. Just some pull downs, shrugs, and biceps tonight. Last night I did some squats and box jumps. I made it through the challenge although barely. My GF missed Christmas day due to illness and I can't blame her because I felt like crap throughout the past couple of weeks myself. I'm hoping I get to feeling better soon.

Roads wide open yesterday and today. 11 and a half mile run on NYED and a 47 mile ride on NYD. Now I'm drinking the Kool Aid (Primal Blueprint for Nook) - started reading it while eating pork belly and black-eyed peas over rice (NYD leftovers)
