Most grocery stores have the tofu and miso paste over by the produce. You can get the rest off of Amazon or from Walmart believe it or not.

Lived in Japan for three years. I ate everything they put in front of me.... except miso. I could not make myself like it.

Glad you've got a recipe you like.

Looks good. You just need an Asian style soup spoon now.

Substitute chicken gizzards for tofu and I’m in.

My god 'Merica is destroying itself when somebody post dishes like that.  Next they will telling us how raw fish is so great.

Of course I am not the Food Police so if you like crap like that then "bless your little heart".

The best miso soup I had was at the top of Mount Fuji.

I hiked up it, leading a Marine company… in uniform.

They are a conquered people, and we have subjugated their soup.

It was the most “American” tasting thing I ever ate.

I think Miso soup is the best Asian soup out there.
So simple and good.

A hot and sour is great also but that takes some pretty quality mushrooms to pull off.

Pho is obviously a winner but that's almost strictly an out to eat thing.

Miso soup is for poor people who can’t afford beef

It doesn't replace H mart, but Walmart has a surprisingly good Asian section for a quick need vs 2+ hour round trip for me to get to the H/ hour to lesser Asian grocer.

Funniest memory when I lived in Hawaii and my parents came for a visit. We went to the Windward mall for something to do. There's a Asian store on the second level that had all sorts of cheap Asian stuff. Small serving tongs, little plastic serving dishes to add soy and wassabi for sushi, sushi rolling mats, and musubi presses. You get the idea, so on this trip my mother found a brand of Miso paste with the label in Engrish, it was bad, like every 3rd word was wrong or misspelled.  It was hilariously bad!

I love making miso soup.

It is my feel good meal, especially if it’s cold or I’m under the weather.

It tastes like home to me.

This is the way. Have to have the Bonito flakes and choose white or red I generally preferred White miso.
