I have HWBB heat throughout the house and in my garage have the suitcase heater that blows air. Its mounted just under the ceiling and has a pipe in and out that run to the furnace. Here is my question.... It doesnt blow hot or even warm air. It feels like its just moving room temp air. Both in and outflow pipe are damn hot, fan seems to be working without problem. There is a thermostat on the blower and I have tried every different setting and get no where. One of my neghibors suggested cleaning the coils. I did this, but didnt get much out (compressed air) Any suggestions. Hoping to avoid a call to the heating tech. FWIW, its been this way since we moved in 3 years ago. Just havent had time to mess with it. Now I am working a lot in the garage and the thermometer sitting at 40 degrees isnt very appealing Thanks Chris |
| Sounds like your coil is airbound. Is there a bleeder on the top, may look like a tire valve or a brass bulb on the top with a small cap that looks like a tire stem cover? If not then the loop may need to be flushed to get the air out. If the fan is running and the pipes are hot to the touch your t-stat is working, the water circulator just cant pump past the air pocket. |
