I see the crash of this cool machine as being due to nothing short of recklessness and irresponsibility. It was not stressed, designed, or made for intense aerobatics and when
it was put into a flat spin and recovered, it oversped and of course the weakest link broke, in this case the right wing. I don't go to RC meets to watch B-29s and other replicas of large aircraft do aerobatics. It seems silly and out of place. Remember that old saying? "There old pilots and there are bold pilots, but there are no old, bold pilots." It applies in the RC world, too, but only to the planes rather than to the guys flying them. |

Notice where the wing separated? I wonder if maybe a fuel leak or smoke oil weakened the foam core. There is a video of a forest fire fighting C-130 that had a similar wing root break/failure ...unfortunately it was a real plane and good people died trying to fight a forest fire in California if I remember correctly. |

A guy at my former club was 100% scale. He even wouldn't fly a small electric DC-3 faster than scale speed. The control he had over his scale models seemed more impressive than the 3D guys going crazy with their Extras/etc. |

According to the comments attached to the video it was stressed for aerobatic flight... He forgot to install the wing bolts.
