Have you priced plywood lately? Grocery bags, inside out beer cases both make good products for target repair (covering up shot out centers in plywood target holders at the range, for instance.)

You could put the grocery bag targets on top of the plywood backing.

any local building site will be more than happy to let u have the plywood. they usually pay to have it taken away. paper targets are still LAME.
