The total piston count is what actually matters though. Not the total engine count.

took a while to count though, because of a mix of 1,2,4,6,and 8 cyl engines.

I also forgot to count a generator which I've never set up, and a (edit: crashed) 4cyl bike which I've been storing for a friend for like 20 years.
I really need to thin some stuff out.

edit2: and a spare 4cyl block from a nash rambler.

I disagree.  From a maintenance stand point, how many carburetors followed by how many oil changes!

I am just playing with OP as the "Cylinder Index" has been a thing for 30+ years amongst enthusiasts of all things oil based.. Counting how man "pistons and cylinders" you have in your possession.

Ztr
Tractor
6 chainsaws
2 gas pole saws
2 snow blowers
Generator
Log splitter
2 pressure washer
Walk behind mower
Tiller
Weed trimmer
2 dirt bikes
Leaf blower

Spare motors not in vehicles
350 V8 x3

Your cylinder index should equal your age. FYI. 1 piston equals one cylinder. Regardless of fuel or type.

1 2-cyl mower = 2 pistons

Last time this came up, the “cylinder index” was better than 2. I’m not counting again.

Cylinder index:  cylinders/age
There was a touch over 100 spark plugs in my harem, and it’s 10-15 higher than last count.
