| I'll try to keep it short. My son is stationed in Alaska. He went to the joint readiness training center at Fort Polk(I think) first week of Jan. to support another company that's training. I have not been able to get him on his phone and his Grandfather died today. Anyone know the way to go about contacting him? |

The Red Cross can get a message to him, via his Chain of Command. I've had to deliver the message of deceased family members several times. Most of the time, the Marine was already aware of the death. Using the Red Cross validates the death for the Chain of Command, and helps ensure the Service Member isn't making up a death to get out of something. Red Cross I'm sorry for your loss. @HEATH223 |
