How britain has destroyed herself I especially noticed how the writer talks about how they are less safe than ever before in this liberal infested enviro. But....but wait they have such stiff gun control laws, shouldn't they be as safe as a baby in their mothers arms? I know the writers intent is not a commentary on the Second Amendment specifically, but it is one on "Freedoms" and how (liberal) Government intrusion in the lives of the people has ruined a once powerful nation. To me I see our future could be that exact same place if we are not careful. My prayer is that every single Arfcom member gets out and votes for a person who supports the Second Amendment. I dont care who it is Paul, Thompson, Huck. If it were to actually happen, it would in the very least send a message to the Dems in congress, that there are a Ton of people out here concerned about their rights. |
It would need a major breakdown in law and order of the magnitude that would require troops on the streets to make people wake up and smell the coffee. |
So a week from next tuesday is a possibility?
|
Yes, but by then it would be burning on the cooker. Too late!

Flashman's creator died just the other day, BTW. |
"previous employers"? What are you doing now then Andy? /PHil |
The Roast Beef of Old England When mighty Roast Beef was the Englishman's food, It ennobled our brains and enriched our blood. Our soldiers were brave and our courtiers were good Oh! the Roast Beef of old England, And old English Roast Beef! But since we have learnt from all-vapouring France To eat their ragouts as well as to dance, We're fed up with nothing but vain complaisance Oh! the Roast Beef of Old England, And old English Roast Beef! Our fathers of old were robust, stout, and strong, And kept open house, with good cheer all day long, Which made their plump tenants rejoice in this song-- Oh! The Roast Beef of old England, And old English Roast Beef! But now we are dwindled to,what shall I name? A poor sneaking race, half-begotten and tame, Who sully the honours that once shone in fame. Oh! the Roast Beef of Old England, And old English Roast Beef! When good Queen Elizabeth sat on the throne, Ere coffee, or tea, or such slip-slops were known, The world was in terror if e'er she did frown. Oh! The Roast Beef of old England, And old English Roast Beef! In those days, if Fleets did presume on the Main, They seldom, or never, return'd back again, As witness, the Vaunting Armada of Spain. Oh! The Roast Beef of Old England, And old English Roast Beef! Oh then we had stomachs to eat and to fight And when wrongs were cooking to do ourselves right. But now we're a . . . I could, but goodnight! Oh! the Roast Beef of Old England, And old English Roast Beef! |
I have only one word to describe that article:![]()

Alas, it's not just Great Britain. The Colonies have fallen, as well. |
Yup, as much as I hate to admit it, my country which I love so much seems to be going down the turbler too with the election of the Labor Government. Who knows, in a few years I may be slicing in the Land of the Free |
Hope we'll still BE free when you get here, otherwise welcome home!
|
Good to see you back. No longer .mil? |
True… same shit cup of coffee, just different amount of sugars Conservative Party: Centre-Right Socialists Liberal-Democrat Party: Socialists Labour Party: Centre-Left Socialists |

The decline and fall of the British Empire and Britain can be tied in exactly with the rise of the Labour (Socialist) Party. Prior to 1924, Britain was a very much right wing libertarian country. The huge losses of men from the upper and ruling classes during WWI along with social discontent afterwards left a vacuum of power that Labour were able to exploit and they first came to power in 1924. Look up the major declines in the fortunes of Britain as a nation and they coincide with the Labour administrations. |
Some day objective historians will say something similar about the United States. It is only a question of whether it started with FDR in the Depression or LBJ with his Great Society. |
Just out of interest ...do the same rules/restrictions apply to all Non-Americans who want to move there. I.e would the same rules apply to British people that would apply to Asian , Australian , Spanish etc ? Cheers Taffy |
I don't know for sure but I had a friend that was Canadian who had to go back because he had been here too long. So I would imagine it doen't matter who you are or wher you come from. |
Hopefully we can turn it around before this happens. Primaries are Feb. 5th ! |

Wow that article was spot on. I quite enjoy the Daily Mail, yeah it's still a newspaper but they do make some stands against PC culture. As a closet Anglophile and employee of a UK company it boggles my mind every time I go over there to think that 70 years ago this country controlled a global empire. Very depressing to see how far its been taken down the road to shabby, second rate status. |
i think the only exception is cuban nationals, if they make it to the shore without getting picked up by coast guard or border patrol, they are home free. oh yeah marry an American |

I am just finishing Sir Winston Churchill's autobiography of his early life as an officer and a war journalist. It's such a different time it can be mind-boggling at times... Not from the book but a little snippet on wikipedia about the 1945 elections: ''During the opening broadcast of the election campaign, Churchill astonished many of his admirers by warning that a Labour government would introduce into Britain "some form of Gestapo, no doubt humanely administered in the first instance".[189] Churchill had been genuinely worried during the war by the inroads of state bureaucracy into civil liberty, and was clearly influenced by Friedrich Hayek's anti-totalitarian tract, The Road to Serfdom (1944).'' Viewed from 2008 is seems the Bulldog was right...
|
What's really sobering is that it's quite plain to see this is the EXACT same road we are headed on... We're just a few years behind.
|
At least we still have the means to make a stand, and hopefully the will to rollback all the shit they've pulled when the time comes. "The question is not how far. The question is, do you possess the constitution, the depth of faith, to go as far as is needed?" |
Whats the future for this socialist bliss Isle? A complete take over of the culture? |
I'd say the seeds were sown by Wilson. |
Nope, never going to happen, the 1.6 Million Muslims in Britain make up just 2.7% of the population and that numbers barely rising, (In the USA there are 10 Million muslims and they make up 3.75% BTW). The biggest immigrant group in Britain is Catholics from the former WARSAW pact countries, around 3 million Poles alone in the last 5 years, let alone Latvians, Lithuanians, Russians, Rumanians, Czecks, Bulgarians, Croatians, and the numbers coming show no sign of slowing. I know lots of Poles, some Russians, Romanians and Latvians, I speak with many Poles and Latvians in shops, restaurants and bars, my wife has Poles and Latvians working with her in her place of work. I don't know a single muslim by name or speak with any. |
Ah, but the question is, when someone tells a Pole joke, do they show up in droves with "BEHEAD THOSE WHO INSULT POLSKA" signs? I think not. |
Fixed it for you. Not living there, I really don't have my finger on the pulse, but I get the inkling that the EU may just be the saviour of Britain after all. Either the EU will become so Draconian, so anti-British that a government will be elected on an "out of Europe" platform, or Britain will become so obnoxious that Britain will be forced to leave, or that the EU will break up, forcing Britain (and everyone else) to do its own thing. I count all three as equal, and slightly less than remote, possibilities. They all require just the right push to make them happen. And yes, I'm an Anglophile at heart. |
