This poll will be a self selecting sample.  Judging by some of the grammar and spelling we see on the board, not very.

you should really add graduate and professional degrees to the poll

You are missing a couple of levels....there are several PhDs, JDs, MDs, (and at least one DPM), etc. (all Doctorate Level).

Better do:

Never Finished HS.

I am lucky and unlucky at the same time...

I had to go to work to support myself at an early age so never got to go to college but landed a job in the printing industry and worked my way up over the last twenty years.

I do as well as many college grads,  but I realize I'm in the minority of success with out education.

I disagree.  You are in the minority of people who are willing to work hard, sacrifice, and be dependable.  I worked in the printing industry for two years after I got out of the army.  It's full of deadbeats, dopers, and migrants.  Good job.

BTW, nothing says you can't go to college now.  I left for the army a week after I graduated HS.  I didn't start college for five years.  It took me six years to get my BA because I too had a family, full time job, several part time jobs, etc.  I went back because I want to set an example for my kids.

I spent 3 years at OSU changing majors (psychology, philosophy, political science, forest resources management) before I took a couple of years off.  Then I grabbed a shitty little associate's degree in mechanical design engineering.  So yes, I've got a little schoolin' past teh 9th grade.

I should have thrown in 31B grad too, but I always forget that one.

Hell while I'm at it, American Red Cross certs in First Aid, Adult CPR, AED, Shelter Management, Logistics, Hazmat Awareness/Operator, Disaster Assesment.... I don't remember the other ones.

Then there is the software training - been to Milford Ohio for about 5 weeks of CAD training(SDRC), Costa Mesa CA for a couple of weeks of laser programming training, SW Indiana for CNC programming.

And I just went through a class taught by the FBI for bomb threat training.

I guess I like learning weird shit.

Yes I could go to college now but I am very set in what I do.  I have been out of high school for twenty years now so it would be very difficult.  I feel like I would have to relearn things that I learned in high school.  What I do instead is read every piece of non fiction I can get my eyes on.

Agreed.

Judging by the cars, guns, and houses I've seen in pictures, Arfcommers generally do well.

Plenty of book geeks (like me), but I'm sure we have quite a few that took advantage of their GI Bill.

Lots of college students too!

Poll distribution is extremely skewed

I'm sure someone else mentioned this, but given a truly random sample, it SHOULD look more like a Gaussian distribution.

This means you need several choices beyond "college graduate," for example, masters, doctoral, etc.

It also means that people who graduated high school but went no further would have to answer the poll, which they won't do.  Why would you be inclined to open a thread about "how educated you are" if you don't feel you have any formal education beyond high school?  As I said, self selecting sample, the results as with any arfcom GD poll are meaningless.
