Flat bench 175x7, incline DB press 75x6... or 5... 5 or 6

My goal is to be able to bench 225 by the end of August.

Don't listen to the dick above.

Not enough info but you could be on track. Be careful not to overtrain.

The average persons CNS can take a set or two of flat bench, but add in those dumbbells and you're really pushing your luck.

Or are you worried about the Rhabdo from a set of 7?

OP:  We might be able to throw out some more constructive feedback if we knew a little more, like what's your training like, heigh/weight/age, how long did it take you to reach this?

Not thinking Rhabdo. I'm thinking he might try to work chest every day to make his goal by Aug, which could be counterproductive.

Yes.

I also assumed you were a dick because of your very unhelpful and insulting post.

Are you implying girls can't also act like dicks?

Lol oh how I love this site

Ok a quick overview. I've not been in the gym for well over 3 years. The last 2 I've been recovering from multiple ACL surgeries. Kind of been a sloth. I've been lifting now for about 8 weeks. 6' working my fat ass down from almost 400lbs(lost 75lb so far).

The 7 reps probably seems odd. I'm getting to a point of feeling comfortable pushing myself so I'm still trying to find my limits if that makes sense.

Good, keep losing weight.

I lied anyway. It's not really that good for a girl.

I've seen that. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to take anything away from her, but I could probably do that as well if I only needed to move the bar 6" or so. I'm by no means a pro, but I do try to keep some semblance of proper form. Being able to slide a hand under your lower back while benching, correct form. Enough room for a toddler to crawl through?

Have you tried going for a 1 rep max to get a baseline?  175x7 shows a 1RM of 211.  The 531 program might get you to 225 in 2 months.

135 first set, then 185 or 205. I start with 135 till I'm warmed up and jump straight to 225.

*This is some rando internet bro, so we're just going by what he says, and it is squatting, which is a lot more taxing on the body than benching, and it should probably go in the DEATHRACE 500 thread

Know what his program was?

Real simple

Squat EVERYDAY.  To a max.  And then do some back off sets

The overtraining thing was a hot topic for awhile, but I think people are realizing that it's either bullshit or really doesn't apply to them.  If you want to get good at something you have to do it, a lot.
