Damnit, that makes me want to look into paragliding.
I seriously looked at getting into hanggliding a couple years ago, but decided the cost was too high at the time. I'm getting closer to being debt free (save for the mortgage), and might could take up a kick ass hobby like paragliding. |

Some of these guys will strap a gas-powered fan to their backs and fly under power! There's a guy in Los Lunas who does this frequently. As soon as he puts the throttle in, his parachute opens behind him and he's off the ground. |

Looking at some local clubs for training and such, and they say that unpowered, you're looking at about $5000 to get to where you can solo. |
