I'd like to create a small poll in the refinishing forum.

After you've created a post, such as the one here; go back in and edit it.
There will be an option to "Add a poll" or something along those lines. Once you get in there, it is pretty self explanatory. IIRC Once you create the poll, I don't think you can edit it, so get it right the first time
