How long does it take you to install a lower parts kit?

By the time my Son is finished I am still looking for detent springs that went flying.

He did ten the other day in 28 minutes.

Only done it a few times, but somewhere between 30 mins and an hour.  I tend to be rather meticulous and also tend to lose my fuzzy duck fucking detents.  I swear those can reach Mach 6.

I can never afford to do more than one at a time so I have absolutely no need to rush.

But if I were in a hurry for some reason, and I had all the parts and tools laid out and ready to go...  3-5 minutes would seem reasonable.

As it is, I'm in the 30-60 minute ballpark to get all the tools out, check everything over, do the job, put the tools away, etc.

Wow!!!

Ten in under half an hour?  That is impressive.

I'm with you on the floor looking for the detent spring.

If I was in a hurry (and lucky), I could probably do it in about 5-6 minutes, I'm guessing.  I am tempted to take one apart now, just to time myself putting it back together.

Only did it once, but took about 20 mins. Those detents are a pain.

I tape all mine up so as not to scratch them (until I toss it down the driveway that is!). So about 30 to 40 minutes.

Something like this lol In my defense it was the first time I'd ever put one together.

The first time I ever walked into the shop and saw how he does it , he dumped all the parts for 15 lowers on the bench, he separated them into like parts in piles.

And then he went to work.

It was really something to see.

About 45 minutes. I'm usually going slow, showing some one how to assemble one, explaining how it works.

Three years.  I still haven't found that detent, it went under the workbench somewhere.

once you learn the trick for the front takedown pin detent, you can do them quick.  it takes me 10 minutes or so to put one together.  I'll have to make a video someday.

The box thing is something I would do, if I had the room and a a bench.
I used to gather all the parts I needed for phone rebuilds and go from there.

It just is how my brain functions and running at 2-4 steps ahead once the thing becomes automatic.

I'm a wee bit clumsy, and my hands shake a lot.  That said, probably 25 minutes if I pay attention.

My first one took about an hour, but I was new to the platform.  Now taking my time 15 minutes is all I need.

I've only done 2.

First about 45-50 minutes.

Second was about 30 minutes.
