halfway into a reply to a post/thread "Ah, screw... I don't want to get involved in this one" or "I don't want this shit hanging around in my active topics for months"?

I find myself doing it pretty frequently... especially in conversations that are almost certain to go downhill fast but somehow not get locked/trashed.

All the time.  Sometimes my memory fails me and I forget the witty comment or advice I was going to post, or it just loses it's humor.

Not so much for that, but a lot of times I type out a long reply, figure somebody's going to feel butthurt over it, and delete it so I don't have to suffer through their bitching.
