| So arfcom, how often do you do vigorous physical activity lasting 10 minutes or more? |
|
My normal week went something like this. Monday: 30 mile road bike ride Tuesday: 2500 yards of swimming drills Wednesday: 10 mile run Thursday: 13 mile mountain bike ride in the morning and 2500 yards of swimming drills in the evening Friday: 5-8 mile trail run Saturday: 55 mile road bike ride Sunday: 12 mile mountain bike ride at and easy pace and then a light climbing session in the evening. Although I am doing very little of this program this week cause I have a 1/2 ironman in 7 days. ![]() |

Soon as I saw the majority of people said daily I knew this was going to be like the whats your IQ or penis length threads. To be fair, it may take some arfcommers 10 minutes to woddle from the basement to their cars for work each day. Basement has a door outside! HAH!

Every. Single. Day.
No, but really, I am one of those weird dudes that actually does a mini work out regimen (push ups, situps, curls, crunchy frogs, shoulder push ups, etc) before bed and when I wake up. Its as regular as brushing my teeth now. During cycling season I kind of slack on conventional workouts since I am on the road so much, and it is hard enough for me to buy enough food/keep down the protein shakes to keep my weight from drastically dropping. When I go off season I do P90X six days a week. ETA - Holy crap apparently AR15.com has become a health and fitness board! Look at those poll results! (Or maybe it's just that the big guys aren't clicking on this thread) We should have mandatory picture/post day

How do the big cycling guys get enough to eat?!?!? After long rides I have stuffed myself with decent food yet literally felt like I was starving but was too full to eat. Crazy stuff. |

Well, even though I know it is water weight, there is still a SIGNIFICANT amount of calories being burnt. Some of the rides I did last year made me lose 8+ lbs. I mean I'm sure at least 6 of that was water, but I do my best to stay hydrated out there. Seriously though, I have 3-4k calorie a day diets when I know I am going to be cycling far, and I STILL lose weight. |

I work out hard with weights 3-4 days per week, and walk 5 to 5.5 miles every day without fail (it takes me 85 to 90 minutes). I have a high protein diet and my body fat is 6-7% Walking is not "vigorous exercise" but it burns up the calories. I can run a 43 minute 10K and cycle at an average speed of 20MPH for one hour. I'm in my late forties. For the record I have consistently worked out since I was 16 years old. It's a lifestyle for me. |
