the Barbary Coast.  San Fran.  what used to be a scrappy, mostly blue collar town.  we had three gun shops that I can remember.  the SF Gun Exchange a nice big store downtown where I got my first 2 handguns, a small mom and pop store out by the beach they even had "bullet proof vests", and another small gun shop right on the main road to Fisherman's wharf area and it was owned by a well known gunsmith.

now all those are gone and there is but one remaining tiny gun shop out in the mission district and it may not last much longer.  ammo cannot be bought and sent into the city mail order.  there are no ammo or guns available at big 5 or any store for that matter.  not even an air rifle or bb gun.  used to be you could buy stun guns otc but I don't see those around anymore either.

you all know about the restrictive gun laws in the state of California.  here's how it is in SF County.  this is how it starts my friends.

anyways since i'm on vacation went shopping and did find some deals.  CRKT knife just like the one in the ARFCOM store but earlier plain Crawford Falcon version w/o autolawk for get this - $14.99!  I got another Winchester 1000SB (made in Spain) for half price (in a different county).  got a Tasco spotting scope also half off.  I tried buying USA made best I could but not much joy.  didja' know dang crossman .177 pellets are made in china?  so bought daisy's instead but it doesn't anywhere on the tin where they're from.  I was shocked even the Beeman and Walther air rifles were made in china.  beeman! what is up with that.  going back later for this cool winchester hunting shirt.  but only if it's made here.  doubtful though.

it took years but this is how shit changes.  watch for it coming to your area.

Move to Florida.  I needed a new belt for my vacuum, so I went to the corner vacuum/sewing machine store - They have a whole wall full of those purse tasers.  All the designer colors, too.
