Guy shows up at church pretty regular now. He is 40ish. Veteran. Severe alcoholic. Survives by panhandling. Is 40ish, looks like he's pushing 65-70. Pancreas and liver issues. Says he wants help but doesnt know where or how to get it. Honestly without professional medical help he would die detoxing.
So where does he get help? Church is too small to foot a rehab bill for him, we cant. I was thinking the VA might help him if he walked in to their ER in the shape he is in. Ideas? We live in Va. VA is 20 minutes away. |
