mr_wilson helped me with this a week or so ago, so I'll pass on his comments to you.

Click up-top where it says Photos, go to your gallery when box pops up, (Bookhound's stuff), pick on your picture so it comes up full size, right click on pic and select properties, copy pic properties, minimize/close pic, go back to your post and paste pic
]img[http://photos.ar15.com/WS_Content/ImageGallery/IG_LoadImage.asp?iImageUnq=5240]/img[
between these brackets, (reverse the brackets, shown as an example, see Board Code for futher clarity) and here's your pic:

Where are your pics hosted?  mr_wilson's directions were for pics I uploaded to a gallery here on AR15.com.

Thanks for the response but I do not see anywhere on top where it says photo's to click. Do you have to be a paying member to be able to post pic's?

Ah, yes.  You do have to be a paying member to have pics hosted (not posted though) here.  Your pics need to be hosted on a server somewhere on the web.  Are they?

No all my pics are on my hard drive. I had an idea that you had to be a member before you could post pics but I was not sure. I really did not want to join because I did not spend that much time here at first but I have become addicted to this place. I don't post a lot but I do spend quite a bit of time here just reading the post's, I find it very informative and entertaining as well. I guess I could scrape up a few bucks and join up as I think it will be money well spent. Unfortunatly I recently became one of those unemployment statistics after 17 years on my job so things are a little tight right now. Thanks a lot for the information though, I shall return.

Keep in mind you don't have to be a member to POST pictures.  You do have to be a member for ar15.com to HOST your pictures.  Big difference.  I think there are some free sites on the net that will host pictures for you.  Then you can post them here (the pictures are just links to files accessible via the net, regardless where they are located).

If you have a few you want posted e-mail them to me and I'll do it for you.  Actually, I'll put them in my gallery so YOU can be the one to post them.

But, if you can scrape you a few bucks and feel like helping out the site, I encourage you to be a member.

Thank you very much BookHound for the offer. Yea I will join up, not just so I can post pictures but I really like the way everyone here is always willing to lend a hand and the support that they give to one another in any situation. It really seems like almost a family type atmosphere and I would be proud to be a part of that. Thanks again for the information and the offer.
Take care.

Help.....How do you post a picture from a picture server. (I.E. Imagestation.com). Does the url still go inside the img tag? Thanks.

[#8]
Yes.  You always have the img tags.  What goes between the tags is the URL to where the picture is located, which can be some other server on the net.  Its just a link to your file (picture).
