How can the average citizen show support? Is there a list of items that can be sent to soldiers to help boost morale and to let them know that we are thinking of them?

I would think if I was a soldier I would like to get snacks to eat and maybe some magazines to read while passing the time. I worry that if you sent a care package it would not be accepted. I s there any large companys that would send goodies to our guys?

I would like to get something started if anybogy knows what to do please pass the info along.

Last month the local protesters took out a half page add showing there position. we countered with a two page ad of locals names in very fine print saying that we supported the war and our troops. I am sure I could get a $5-$10 dollar donation from each person to get something going.

Here is what you should do... #1 Go to Wal-Mart and get travel sized eye drops, wet wipes, and q-tips.... Mail them off to the troops. #2 go down town, find a hippie, wait until nobody is looking..then... Knock the shit out of him... Run like hell. Repeat.

I know a teacher at a high school who's students are putting together care packages to send. Lots of the items in it are corporate donations.

If you're feeling like sending some stuff, you can send along some toilet paper in a ziplock bag, beef jerkey, cigarettes and dip, Maxim... ya know, the essentials. =)

I fly my flag.  Hopefully any family with troops over there know whats up when they see it.

I am not sure they want unsolicited packages, as they present a security risk.  I know there is a website where you can email the troops, but i don't have a link.

Send NO--Say again--NO porn or semi-porn to the troops. You might think you're doing them a favor, but you are NOT.  Same goes for alcohol, weapons or drugs.

Lew Tippie tossed out a pretty good thread on this a while ago. Perhaps some kind soul could dig it up.

My family has adopted a Marine.  Sending him some of the above mentioned items, cigarettes and Skoal, etc.  I remember porn is a no no but can't remember why.  (My brother was there with 2/4 Marines in '91.)  But the above mentioned items and some kind of correspondence are very welcome, especially among some who are not getting as much as others.
