I've been using this for a few days now and it works really well (even compared to apps like NetShare-- which I had and used). I was using software version 2.0.1 when I jailbroke the first time, I just upgraded tonight to 2.0.2 through iTunes and rejailbroke with QuickPwnRC3 with no ill-effects. Some things about quickpwn, it will not disable your iTunes or App store. Both will still work fine. It will add an app called Cydia that is basically the App Store, but will allow you to install any apps published in it (non-Apple approved). These include SSH shells and terminal emulators-- two tools you'll probably use during this. Anyways, this guide works for you folks out there looking for a good way to tether your device. Remember to have iTunes installed on the computer you plan on tethering from. www.wallyx.com/tether-your-iphone-with-your-laptop-with-the-usb-cable/ One tip; if it is connecting the SSH session up to the phone but you're still not getting through-put, try opening safari and going to a web page. The phone should show the 3G symbol while your trying to use it as a modem. Also, FoxyProxy for firefox can be used if you plan on just surfing the web. There are good directions for this out there. |

Yep. As long as you use proxify the way that article has you do it, ANY app should work. I haven't tried gaming through it, but there is no reason it wouldn't work. Although ping is usually around 160-290ms. blog.iphone-dev.org/ This is where you get the quickpwn software. You'll have to google for the .ipsw file that it requires. I found it by searching for "iphone 3g 2.0.2 ipsw" and got a hit that was on apples domain. Of course you want to use the .ipsw version for whatever version software the iphone is running. Everything else needed is linked on that article. Oh and for RDP, there is a free RDP client in the app store that I use too. It even supports non-standard terminal services ports. It's by a company called Mocha. |
