This is my first post in the humidor and I am brand new to cigars. I was wondering about cheap (good value) humidors. I understand that in general you get what you pay for, and keeping this in mind I am skeptical of cheaper humidors. I found a place that offers cheap (price) humidors but allegedly had a lifetime guarantee. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the company. Their website is http://www.cigarhumidors-online.com/
Are these actually quality humidors? Is it worth it get one of these? Should I just make an igloodor? Also, what size is best for a beginner? I hear that it is always best to buy more than you need. I was thinking about 100 cigar in size would be pretty good. Also, is the following humidor a good idea? http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&productId=100654347&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=100654347&cm_mmc=1hd.com2froogle-_-product_feed-_-D29X-_-100654347 Thanks, grEnAlEins |

I'd spend a bit more than the vinotemp and get yourself a Michael Dixon humidor. He makes EXCELLENT boxes for the money. All solid woods (no fiberboard or plywood covered with veneers) and he uses some beautiful exotic woods like Brazilian rosewood, bubinga, Koa, Macassar Ebony etc.. that are as much as a piece of art as a humidor can be. I've got one of his boxes that I've had for 6 or 7 years and it has yet to let me down. You can get better but not at his prices.
www.michaeldixonhumidors.com If you don't want to spend that much just grab a "Cigar Jar" for $20 or build a Coolerdor and save up cash for a good humidor. Putting premium cigars into a cheep wood humidor is somewhat akin to putting a $40 airsoft optic on a custom built AR. |
