If you plan to never use it it will hold up well.

Spray a Cerakote clear over it and then it will last.

My BIL does hydro dipping. His hold up very well. He uses automotive grade Imron matte clear coat to seal the hydro dip pattern. Oils and normal gun cleaning chemicals do not affect his stocks or frames at all. His CCW Glock 23 has been pocket carried for 3 years now and has no noticeable wear.
Some hydro dippers cheap out on the clear coat.

My bad. It is a Glock 27, not a 23.

Like most finishes, your results will depend entirely on who applies the dip.

There are plenty of shitty hydrodippers who use shitty clear coat that won't hold up for long on a firearm.
