| I love the KLS300SM and want to buy one, but damn they are not meant for interstate commute. Bikes like that make me wish I lived in town with twisty streets. But I live in the country with dirt roads and trails. It's not the bike for me, but if I ever get flush enough with cash to add a use-specific bike like a SM, its gonna be the KLX or DR-Z |

Manual says 7500 miles which seems a wee bit high lol I could probably go with a longer interval no issue. I just notice the oil darkens up around the 750 to 1k mark quite a bit. Since getting comfier on it ive been ripping it pretty good most the time It holds like 1.1 quarts. I have been using full synthetic I changed out the air filter the other go around. I dont think I do enough dirt to ever dirty up a air filter too bad. Checked it this oil change and it looked like I had just put it in |

I was scooting around last night Boy I got closest ive been to bitting it Wasn't even doing anything dumb either Simple left turn. Going slow. Nothing crazy in the slightest. Hit a patch of sand I didn't see. It turned sideways so fast Kicked myself and the bike back up. Foot is a little sore but I'll take it compared to the alternative lol |

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from His workmanship, so that men are without excuse.

Half of the factory interval will be totally safe. 1k miles is just throwing your money away. https://www.blackstone-labs.com/free-test-kits/ |

The oil in the Death Machine turns black almost immediately. Attached File Fresh oil. For like five minutes. Also I found out that these bikes don't like it when you fill the oil to the top line on the sight glass. True story. |

I cannot tell you how many times that awareness has helped me avoid something when driving a car or truck, but it is a lot. Once you internalize the habit and make it part of what you always do, it really helps. Most drivers are oblivious and run over stuff they could have easily avoided. |

Generally, the better the deal, the faster it goes. But there are great deals that hang around. For example, here's a 2021 Honda CRF300L Rally with 9k miles for $3000 firm (Forest County, PA). I think that's a great price. https://advrider.com/f/threads/2021-honda-crf300l-rally-reduced.1804133/ Owned it since new non abs, 9000 miles street and dirt roads only, t rex bars, excellent shape. Forest County PA $3600 update JULY 2026 reduced to $3000 firm Or how about this BMW: https://advrider.com/f/threads/2008-r1200r-low-miles-upgrades-4k.1851107/ Thought I would keep it forever, but craving a twin cylinder ADV bike. 2008 BMW R1200R Very well set up and cared for. 19K miles. Full 18K service this spring New Pirelli Rosso Corsa IV tires Upgraded Protech front shock, adjustable Leo Vince exhaust Booster plug Wunderlich seat Upgraded pegs Puig windscreen Heated grips ABS Fuel sensor recently went out, but if you are ok with using tripmeter, it’s completely ready to ride. Have stock parts, including low seat. Barely broken in for a Beemer. Sporty fun ride, with shaft drive so very easy to maintain and tour as well. $4000 or consider trade for twin ADV bike. Thanks. I’m in Jeffersonville, IN 47130. Of course, to each person a good buy often depends on what type bike they are looking for and where it is located. ETA: Today somebody posted a 1998 Ducati Monster M900S for $3000 with less than 10k miles (Iowa): https://advrider.com/f/threads/1998-ducati-monster-m900-s-low-miles.1856607/ In Iowa. I have too many bikes (if that's even possible?) so am selling my 1998 900 Monster. Very low actual miles, under 10k. Clean title in my name. New timing belts, valves set 1500 miles ago. New clutch plates, springs, rebuilt slave cylinder, new tires, chain, rear sprocket 500 miles ago. Solo bike, no passenger pegs. Sounds really good, runs perfect, does not burn oil. Fork seals leak a bit. This is a slightly rare S version with the small OEM sport fairing, carbon fenders which have been trimmed, and better adjustable Showa forks. This is a fun, comfortable bike. Includes a box of spare parts and brand new Ventura rear rack ($434 retail). $3000 cash, north-central Iowa. Email [email protected] The guy lowered the price on this... 2009 KLX250 currently sitting at 351cc ~7480 miles Asking $2800 Located in the Evansville, IN area This bike has a Bill Blue 351cc kit installed with a Mikuni TM36 carb. I personally installed the big bore kit in May of 2019 at ~4800 miles. If you've ever ridden a stock KLX250 you'll know how anemic it is, and if you've ever ridden a 351 kitted KLX, you'll appreciate the upgrade. Hasn't gotten as much seat time as it should in the last few years, so time for it to move on. This bike has been well loved as a dual sport and has the stickers and battle scars to prove it. If you're looking for a show bike, this isn't it. It has been well maintained with a recent valve adjustment, carb rebuild, and oil change. It has the following additional parts: - Bill Blue 351cc big bore (used the original cylinder for this bike, not a swap) - Mikuni TM36 carb, jetted for ~0-1000ft elevation and exhaust setup. (Colorado picture in photos was taken in 2018 as a 250 with stock setup) - Kreiger manual cam chain tensioner (stock included) - PM Racks side and top rack - Nelson rig side bags included (pictured off bike) - Rotopax mount and 1 gallon tank (shown in CO picture) - D-Flex handguards - Wired for GPS/heated grips with switched relay box under seat - IMS larger capacity fuel tank (stock included) - Extended aluminum skid plate (stock included) - FMF exhaust (stock included) - Extra parts: chain, brake pads, oil filters, stock take off parts - Tires are nearing end of life but have some take offs that have some good life left that can go with the bike as well. |

Bikes generally go 3500 miles between oil changes, though a lot of multi cylinder bikes consume oil due to low tension rings and you end up adding fresh oil over time. If the manufacturer says 7500, it’s ok to go 7500-just keep an eye on the level. That 300 motor is living a relatively stress free life, it’s not asking a lot of the oil. |
