What, no love for the big .32's?

Clicked on the thread and had to get to pg 2 for me to get in the .32 Smith, (long or short) 32 H&R Mag, or my newest toy the 327 Federal Mag.

Yep. The long recoil system. I have a couple Remington Model 81s that use it. One of the first somewhat successful semi-automatic systems. The Frommer Stop is interesting... probably didn't need a complex recoil system due to the relatively weak cartridge, but it's still neat.

So the bolt AND THE BARREL recoil backwards when fired. At full rearward, the bolt is caught and the barrel starts moving forward under spring pressure. The forward movement of the barrel pulls the bolt, turning it until it unlocks from the barrel. The bolt stays locked to the rear as the barrel continues forward. The spent cartridge is ejected, and when the barrel is fully forward, the bolt is released, picks up a new round and locks closed.

Someday I'll pick up a Frommer Stop. I think the long recoil system is fascinating.

One-hundred-year-old $1,000 Colts are sweet but for a thoroughly useful little carry gun look no farther than the lowly Kel-Tec P32. Truly a pocket-sized gun. Easy to shoot with gentle recoil. Very manageable.

The P32 is a great little gun. Everybody should have at least one.

I picked-up a 9+1 .32 (7.65mm) MAB Model D Type II on Tuesday for $200.00.

Superbly built. Based on the FN JMB desgined 1910/22.

The J.P. Sauer & Son .32 M1913 is a interesting little pistol.

This one is a rare US export model.

They were issued for trench clearing by the French during WW-1. Perhaps the first double stack detachable magazine (not counting it's long taper)  pistol to see combat.

My French Contract (Mfg. 1915) M1907.

The only real difference is the lanyard loop and the requirement for a loaded chamber indicator.

You missed out OP. My local pawn shop had a mint in the original box and when I say mint I am not exaggerating and the original papers in German. 1914 Mauser. It was like a time capsule.

.327" puts up 9x19mm numbers in some loads, particularly the longer bbl you run.  It's probably the ideal J-frame round, but I fear it was too late.

As to the OP, do check out the Kel-tec.  It's stupid cheap, tho somewhat lacking in style.

plus Henry is making a lever gun in .327 Federal

there was a plan for at one point for Lipseys to release a Ruger 77/327 bolt gun but that fell through when Ruger dropped the 77 rotary mag guns...maybe it me but that would have been pretty damn good

Interesting this came up - I've been working out a .32 acp load and took several guns to the range today. The load worked fine. I test fired it in a French MAB, two FN 1922s, a 1934 Mauser, two Walther PPs, and the best shooter of all was a Sig/Sauer 38H.  .32 acp is not an easy cartridge to load for. had a great time with the old guns though.

My favorite .32 is a pre-war Dutch police contract Sauer 38. It looks like the late war German pistols w/o the slide mounted safety but, pre-war quality.

Also because they hate you, the HK model 4 would be interesting, ugly though.

I have a really nice Manurhin PP I picked up about 15years ago, it's my pocket carry piece. German police trade in I picked up from Centerfire Guns. Accurate and action is smooth as glass.

Though I must admit, Mauser HSc's are really nice...a bit heavy on the trigger pull, but they flow nicely and feel nice to hold...
