i can count on one hand people i trust enough at the shooting range that i would trust to be shooting while i walk in front of a hot range like that. Fuck that dumb shit. But there are people that you would trust at a range......would there be more on your list if it was a real life situation where you happened to be in front of them? |

I have 1 and only 1 person that I would trust,,,the funny part is, they wouldnt pull a stunt like that regardless, that is why I trust them.

Certain situations dictate certain safety precautions are thrown out the window. If your actively engaging hostiles that are trying to kill you then i'm not gonna wag my finger at some guy who sweeps another or some other safety violation. Going down on a hot range because you are to bad ass to wait 30 seconds to get a cold range? yea that's just retarded. |

Going down on a hot range because you are to bad ass to wait 30 seconds to get a cold range? yea that's just retarded. With proper training you wouldn't even have to worry about getting muzzle swept i'm not gonna pretend to be some slick shit killer. I'm a Geek and never fired a shot in anger. However i have seen my share of videos from Afganistan and Iraq of firefights where people get swept or people are engaging targets with friendlies in front of them. I would imagine that "killing that asshole over there" becomes more important than the 4 rules. So to answer your question i think in a real combat situation its probably unlikely that you will never get muzzle swept or some other range violation and considering those guys are doing it for real I wont chastise them. now if the guys in this range thinks that they know every one enough to trust them to do it? Thats up to them i guess but I bet almost every one who has ever been shot by accident at a range thought they were being safe right up until tragedy struck. Just seems like unnecessary risk with Zero reward. ETA: Go walk down range and check out the berms and other protective barriers. Random ass rounds all over the place. Shit happens and getting shot would blow. ETA 2: Added my original quote back as to not be taken out of context. |

Ive had a couple friends have some really bad nights because there were kids that lied beyond their targets...... |

It would become more important then 3 but the one that states "know your target and what lies beyond it" comes into play. Ive had a couple friends have some really bad nights because there were kids that lied beyond their targets...... this is true. But in real life sometimes its not that cut and dry. Take the game stop shooting in texas. Were there things behind that guy that if it were not a robbery going down prohibited from shooting? Sure enough. However Said asshole robber had a gun and it became a gun fight. Would i chastise the marine for defending him self because i happen to be down range? Nope. Would i shit my self? Maybe. However we are not discussing that. We are discussing a controlled range. This is where we CAN control all the variables and it behooves us to be as safe as possible. No one wants to plug one of their homies by accident. Certainly no one wants to plug some dumb shit random guy who walked into our line of fire and no fucking way any one wants to take a 12 gauge to the back of the melon cause someone didn't realize i was in front of his position of fire. when on a range its safety first and fun second. Once that trigger gets pulled there is no taking back what goes down next. |

Sir, this is a very true and good statement.......I am neither chastising my friend nor defending him but this is the type of discussion I wanted to have. Thank you for not being another "keyboard commando safety Nazi"...LMFAO! |

Well with the right people and training I don't see anything wrong with that. |

It would be a short list for me but pretty much no.
To those who mentioned the 4 rules they don't prohibit this or 360 degree shooting. Jeff Cooper's Rules of Gun Safety
RULE I: ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED RULE II: NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY RULE III: KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET RULE IV: BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET |

I thought I recognized that range. It's where the morons tried to set the countryside on fire with dragon's breath. ETA: ...and their spelling errors in the vid make my head hurt. That's hilarious! When we started fires in dry grass as kids we'd either stomp it out or use a shovel. |
