I've been feeling like crap. Been eating lots of fruit, cutting back on soda, still felt bad, so I went to the doc and had her check me out. She drew a ton of blood and it was extremely dark. All of the tests have been normal, but she says I'm dehydrated and gave me IV fluids yesterday and advised me to drink more fluid and Gatorade and she wanted me to come back the following day.

So I went home, drank a bunch of tea and Gatorade. Woke up today, drank another gatorade and started to pee like a racehorse.

I went back to the doc today and she insisted I get two more bags of IV fluids, so here I am.

This is a shitload of fluid! Did I really fuck myself up or is the doc going overboard?

If you are able to drink, and your blood pressure is good, I would consider out of hospital iv therapy as unnecessary risk.

too much gatorade is not good for you and drink water not tea.

Your doctor is doing what I call "making a profit." Every time you see her, she bills your insurance company....making a profit. Her accountant has your name on the "assets" page.

Quit drinking soda...full of sugar. Fruit is full of sugar. Eat your veggies. Drink lots of water. That will be $410.00. See how it works.

Do you work where you constantly sweat a lot?
If so you should drink a gallon of water along with gatoraid or similar drink.
Do not drink lots of gatoraid when you do not need it, it can end up being bad for you.

Unless you're pissing clear or a slight yellow then you're dehydrated.

Eating regular meals? You're body will be better hydrated if you're eating normal foods AND drinking water. It allows the body to take in more of the water instead of just passing it through your system.

We push a liter over 30 minutes in some cases so a couple bags a day is nothing. It all depends on how dehydrated you were and what your electrolytes were looking like as well as any disease states you have or at risk for.

All that healthy crap diet is bad for you.  Not kidding.  Reference the BigPony thread on getting his gall bladder out due to not eating enough greasy cheeseburgers.

If all your blood work is normal, you should probably be drinking water.  Gatorade has a ton of sugar in it, you're gonna end up with diabetes.
