| About how much bigger of a waistline do you need for IWB? |
|
Quoted:
I try to get pants a couple inches larger than I normally wear, same with the gunbelt. The last thing you want are skin-tight jeans, and then try to stuff an IWB holster in there. IWB isn't for the fashion-conscious. A fasionista I am not Right now, I have a little 5-shot .357 Magnum and a Wild Bill IWB for it. I'm going to get a Glock 27 probably. I far prefer my SIG, but no way am I going to try to go with an IWB and "summer look" with a full-size sidearm

Depneds on where you wear the gun and what gun and holster you have, I don't require larger clothing because I carry at the 12 o'clock position. If you carry anywhere else you will likely need larger clothing. If you carry a full sized Double stack gun in a leather holster you will need more room, if you carry a compact single stack gun in a kydex holster you will need less room. |
| IT depends on your carry method and holster. I find that a G19 in an Mtac requires 2" larger jeans. A G26 in a Dale Fricke Archangel only requires 0-1" larger jeans. So 2" should be sufficient for most carry methods, especially if you have a nylon belt so you can adjust it to the perfect fit. What holster/gun are you planning to use? |

I usually wear "relaxed fit" jeans so I keep the same wait size. Belts are usually sized 1 - 2" bigger.
I believe there are "calculators" for belt size at looper belts site and the beltmans site. I carry IWB and OWB on occasion, so I brought my belt to a leather shop and had them punch an additional set of 5 holes so I have more adjustability w/my belts. If you dont own a looper or a beltman product you are missing out.. |
