[ARCHIVED THREAD] - I/O device issue

I have a card reader on my pc for memory cards sd, compact flash etc.,

Well my camera takes sd and that is the only slot that doesn't read

I keep getting an I/O device error, well I have run every diagnostic,wizard, and help screen I can find and still no luck.

I even tried uninstalling it and a reboot with no luck.

I am pretty stupid when it comes to computers just enough to be really dangerous to one.

Point me in the right direction please.

has it ever worked ?

have you tried another media?

have you verified your not pluggin it in upside down?

yes,

yes

and yes.Used to work like a champ put pne card in to format it was given a couple 256 meg cards first one formatted second just gave me and error.
