So I head out to the range around 9pm to get a little shooting done before the sun sets, but Michigan had other plans. It is SO goddamned MUGGY that my eyeglasses kept fogging up, my telescope (only spotter i have right now) COMPLETELY fogged up and after 3 shots my barrel started STEAMING. Not smoking, but steaming. Later when I finally gave up and pulled my targets down, they RIPPED like they had been soaking in water!!    Oh and my front sight post was dancing, or at least thats what it looked like due to the lil fuggin mosquito that kept landing on it over and over and over. I hate this state. Even when it's not snowing, it sucks balls.

Its not that bad is it?

Ive live in MI my entire life, so maybe have gotten used to it. Middle of summer and winter I usually dont shoot as much. Spring and fall

I've lived here my whole life also... (i'm almost 30) and that's the problem. I'm thoroughly sick of it. I H_A_T_E snow and the summer is just to muggy to be enjoyable. I'm moving out west as soon as I finish my degree (in about another 3-4 years)

If it wasn't for my job, I'd be gone in a heartbeat! BTW, where'd you go to shoot?

Today was way too humid. I stayed in the air conditioning as much as possible.

Isabella County Sportsmans Club. On Winn Rd just south of M20. About 12 minutes from my house (I'm in Mt. Pleasant).

Ehh. It wasn't that bad. I was stuck inside, wiring my house. Did I mention that it's a new build, and there is no insulation, air conditioning or anything else to keep me cool? Tomorrow should be even better. 90+ degrees and probably about 80%humidity.

I just looked at weather.com and right now it's 66deg and 94, yes 94% humidity...and it's NOT raining. It's supposed to be 89deg tomorrow with 41% humidity.

Just suck it up and good luck with your degree.

Oh c'mon today wasn't that bad at all! We haven't even gotten into the upper 90's yet this year!

I like Michigan. born and raised here. I work outside, and only in MI do you keep a carhart coat and a rain suit in your vehicle as a backup while you're wearing shorts and sunglasses.

If you don't like the weather forecast in MI, change the channel until you find one you like.

Besides, what other state gets to go snowmobiling in March, the tubing on the lake in may?
Follow that up with deer season in the fall and ice fishing in the winter. And we can have machine guns now, and suppresors soon to follow (I hope).

I'm in Cali wishing I was in Michigan. Summer, Fall, Winter, or Spring wouldn't matter to me.

If you're lookin for love, you may want to take it somewhere else mmmkay....

We named your state after we met on of you. It went:

O HI! Oh

Columbus is where we send the ones that can't pass the couch burning initiation test at MSU.

I'll give ya that one. If I were you I'd rather be in America, too! (even Michigan!)

I don't know... I've come back here twice, last time in January of '94 and I'm still here.

Summers suck. Winters can suck in the city. And the cities suck ass... especially Detroit --- where I sit as I type.

But Fall and Spring? I love it here then. And I left So. Cal. twice to move here....

How do you get to Columbus from Michigan?

Take 75 south until you smell it, then head east until you step in it...

I'm talking up North, Traverse City or Cadillac Area. Couldn't hang down in the flatlands.

Wow! We've visited Michigan (Traverse City and Muskegon areas) a few times in the summer and thought we entered paradise. The temperature was always about 10-15 degrees cooler than here in Missouri and the humidity MUCH less.

I have a place (vacant land) up near Baldwin I plan on building on. If I could stay up in that part of the state, I would never leave.

Born and raised in Detroit.  6 years in Mt Pleasant Simplemitch!  Go Chips!  They still have the end of world party?  Ahhh, and The Bird, The Foolery, The Blackstone and those formative years spent commuting betweent The Towers and The Wayside.  Fond, um... uh...Memories, yeah, that's it.

BUT, I got the F out as soon as I was out of grad school.  GAWD I was sick of the weather.  Never seeing the sun.  Cloudy winters, cloudy summers; that place is a breeding ground for seasonal affective disorder except it's SAD season every season.   I tell people we had 4 seasons.  Too cold, too wet, too hot and too short.

Miss the autumn though...

I used to spend all my summers at my grandparents just outside Traverse City (High Lake)

When I was on recruiting duty, my office was in Cadillac.  (95-99)

I think fall is my favourite time of year up there.

All you guys bitching about the state havent been to the real hell holes in the country.  Yes the weather can suck, the economy sucks.

But its got a charm of its own.  Where do you think the buckheads from down south go for fun?  Yes up north.  The woods are filled with the damn fucknuts every deer season.

There are a lot worse places.

I have 81 acres not 15 minutes from Baldwin in Branch.  I am going to live there when I retire.

Actually Michigan's 4 seasons are Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter, and Construction.
I grew up in Detroit also and would say that Big City Summers suck. I spend alot of time vacationing in Traverse City/Frankfort in the summer. It is much nicer along the coast (ironically less humid). But for sure, when my degree is finito, I ROLL!!!!

(But of course i'll still vacation in Traverse City..... )
