I came down with the flu Christmas night---laryngitis, eyes swelled up, chest congestion, cough, etc...
So I decided that rather than try to work out and do a half-assed job of it, I would take the week off and start fresh Monday.
Now, I have had to skip working out before because of being on the road, but all our long trips involve hiking and other outdoor activities, so I am usually physically active even though I am not running or in the gym.  But it's been a couple years since I've been too sick to work out and I swear to God, I HATE it!  I am bored out of my mind, restless and irritable and I feel very guilty.  I did throw the football around with my son a couple days in a row and that helped take the edge off, but I have found that I just can't handle sitting around all day.
Anyone else get that way when they can't work out?

I missed yesterday but I can make it today.  I'm really feeling down because I've all but dropped running the last 2 weeks.  The cold started absolutely killing my calves.  I feel guilted enough to do both today.

Had nachos last night.  Best meal all year.

I get irritable as hell when I can't work out.  All that excess energy with nowhere to spend it.  Over Xmas I was able to run, but I couldn't lift.  I'm looking forward to getting back into it.

Currently buying my time until I think it is safe to go back to lifting weights following the massive headache I got 2 weeks ago. Went jogging for a mile last night and that felt good, but I am dying to hit the weight room again.

What can I say, I am addicted to endorphins.

I finally felt better the last couple days and ran 5K yesterday and today.  Feel worlds better.  Still need to get back in the gym though.

Two rotator cuff repairs and a ruptured bicep tendon repair in the last 2 years sucks big-time.  My grandfather used to tell me it was hell getting old.  He was right.
