I had cashed my bonus check and had it in the envelope from the teller.  I "hid" it in a pile of papers on my desk.  On top of that was a VISA card that was supposed to be in my truck, but I had taken it out to use it last night.  I went to lunch and when I came back they were gone.  Two people were here in the office during my absence and I know for a fact that neither one took them.  I know this because the card was used at a gas station a few miles away.  However, there was one other person here during that time:  A contractor working on the drywall next to my cubicle.  I told property management and they say "I can't believe so-and-so would do that" etc.  Well, the fact remains that this person was the only one in the area during that time.  The card is no big deal.  I reported it (that's how I found it was used) and it has been canceled.  It's the cash that gets me, as it was supposed to be for Christmas gifts.
I guess I'm at fault for leaving it, albeit not so obviously.  The other thing is that this is supposed to be a class A building, has security, and this was our FIRST day here... we had just moved in.
I fucking hate thieves and I hope this one burns in hell for all eternity.

Sorry to hear about that. My mother-in-law has had her car broken into twice recently, and my mom had the same thing happen on Thanksgiving. A lot of people feel that they are somehow entitled to other people's things. it just sucks, and they will get theirs.

Just be happy you didn't have a truck stolen that contained a nice firearm and over $600 worth of various gear.

I, too, hate fucking thieves.

I watched a man beat nearly unconcious for being a "barracks thief".  He was caught by the night firewatch going through cubicles (sleeping quarters) and was detained and beaten, then turned into the MPs.

It was nice to see a thief get a religious beat down.  He also received brig time and a dishonorable discharge.  He had been stealing shit for a couple of months (always at night).

I believe in Karma.  I've seen it in action.

Most gas stations have several cameras recording who is there.  Report the theft and credit card use to the police and have them look at the tapes.  If the contractor shows up on them at the same time your card was used then you can nail him and get you money back.

On a side note, I would leave your Visa card in your truck either.

1.  New office... no keys yet for the cabinets.

2.  I went to the gas station he used and found that there are no cameras outside, just inside.  It is one of those pay-at-the-pump stations.

3.  I know I shouldn't leave it in the truck, but I do not carry a wallet.  Looks like I need to keep it home and only carry it when I think I'll need it.

Nearly all of the stuff that I've had stolen over the years was stolen by so-called "friends".  It amazes me how some people can be buddies with you while at the same time screwing you over.  Sociopaths...

+100

Hopefully the police will help you out with this, it's the best way to prove who it was.

EDIT:  That sucks that they don't have cameras.

Guy's.....

Guive the thieves a break. They are entitled to take what isn't theirs.

It's not their fault. Upbringing, (And all that crap.....)

Instead of making them take your shit,

give it to them.......... 150grains at a time.............................................
