Everytime i try to download anything that is Xvid it wont play, well it shows to be playing but there is no video or sound. I have installed the latest codec any ideas? |

VLC Media Player VLC will play everything. ETA: Super is an awesome tool for playing/converting just about anything. |
| Try Free-Codecs.com. While you're there, be sure to grab QuickTime Alternative and Real Alternative so you won't have to load the bloated OEM crap on your system. |
The movies you're getting might be fakes. As has been previously mentioned, get VLC media player. It plays nearly everything! It's the second thing I install on all my computers after my AV software. I don't like the new interface, but it's only because I used the old one for so long. They also fixed the FLV issues! You don't have to use the Divx pro pack. The free version has the complete playback codec. |
Everyone's saying VLC and he's looking at trial versions of xvid.

SMPLAYER for Windows and Linux, better than VLC which I also have. smplayer.sourceforge.net/downloads.php |

Media Player Classic Home Cinema will play anything including HD Video with Hardware Acceleration. On my Media PC I have VLC for streaming, but Media Player Classic Home Cinema for files on my hard drive. |

Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Just download the trial version of Divx Pro. www.divx.com It will install all of the latest codecs you could possibly need, and you won't even have to use the player to view your video. They say the codec is only good for 15 days Everyone's saying VLC and he's looking at trial versions of xvid. ![]() I have VLC I said i'd try it, pay attention The problem is i want to know why these wont play because i want to put them on DVD. I downloaded a torrent that said xvid, and it wont play on my computer (WindowsM.P.) but i converted it to DVD anyway and burned the disk, it will play in a DVD player ![]() |
