USGI Pulled 30 caliber bullets for my Garand, 150 grain or so up to around 170 (whatever the standard bullet weight was right below 170) It is just getting too damned expensive to keep feeding it old M2Ball and realoding with regular components. powder, Brass, and Primers are not bad, but Projos are driving me bankrupt |

RB Parts I think their name was. Pretty sure they were in California. I bought a bunch of 150g 30 cal projectiles from them a few years ago. They had a bunch of the AP projectiles also. I'm not at my home computer to look for the link. Edit to add: If an arfommer is near Sierra Bullets in Sedalia MO, they might be able to hook you up with blem seconds. They sell them by the pound. I bought 2 .50 cal cans full a few years ago and am finally into the second can. |

The problem with shipping to Canada is the ITAR, folks. The socialist government of canada has been using the ITAR to spank US sporting goods suppliers, and many of them are just plain scared. Even with a new govt. in place, it will take years before US companies will take this risk again. Midway got hit for sending SCOPE MOUNTS to canada. Fines in the tens of thousands. Bass Pro got nailed with a $510,000 USD fine for shipping scopes & mounts to canada. Other big US companies have been treated similarly, for providing weapons sights, parts or ammunition components to Canada. My suggestion would be to start swaging bullets. Contact CORBIN, and get set up to make great .30 cal bullets. You can buy tooling to make jackets from copper tubing. The socialist government of Canada will have a hell of a time keeping you from buying lead or copper tube... Lem |

that si the stupid thing, there is nothing stoppping anyone from buying relaoding components, they are not restriced. I can buy hornady or Sierra or any other brand of projectile all damn day up here, but at around $25CDN/100 it is just not that cost effective when I like to shoot my Garand thousands of rounds a year. I can get powder in 25# kegs, and do so regularly, adn it works out to around $18 CDN a pound or so, not great but better than the $30CDN a pound I pay if I buy in 1 pound increments, Primers always seem to be around $28CDN a thousand unless I buy in ten thousand lots, but that is fine also, I just cannto not find bulk projectiels for my Garand, everythign else I shoot shoots cast so is fine, except my beloved rifle... It is not even a canuck rule to not ship up here, it is Customs being assclowns, and unilaterally deciding shit (they are much like the ATF in making decisions that are illegal and immoral, hence why Unintended Consequences is ahrd to get shipped up) |
Depends on how it is labeled, if soemone puts down "Bullets" it will get stopped because Customs agents are not smart enough to know the difference between Cartridges and Bullets. If labeled Projectiles it might also get stopped for the same reason I personally label such things "Swaged Copper and Lead components" it is truthful, more than accurate, and generally does not open up their misconceptions. Brass is simply that, or "machine drawn brass components" Canadian Customs ahs far too broad of powers regardign what gets seized, adn it is up to individual officers, which is why if you put "gun" down on anything (be it airsoft, books or whatever) it may get opened and searched, if not confiscated because they do not beleive in our rights.... |
