You walk into or onto your local gun shop/gun range and the employees are wearing concealment body armor under their shirts. If you could tell they were wearing one at all, would you perceive the shop/range to be unsafe or would it make perfect sense that people working with firearms all day would wear a vest? Thanks for your feedback. |
to me, anyway |
No, no catch. It's a brewing controversy-one side says it may/will give customers negative perception, but; it makes more than good sense to me. No really worries about getting shot by a would-be assailant. The concern is getting shot by a careless goof that takes his gun out to show someone and he has "forgotten the one in the chamber". |

I would be much less worried about the person behind the counter wearing body armor (employee/business owner) than the stranger who walks into the shop unnanounced w/ a firearm of unknown safety and proceeds to wave it around while discussing the "trigger pull" problem he's been having lately! Yes same here - BUT my wife not being a "gun" person WOULD think there was a PROBLEM, IF she KNEW that what she was seeing was in FACT BODY ARMOUR. If we (she and I) visited that store and I identified the ARMOUR, she would definitely ask me WHY, her hair would be up and she'd be tugging at my arm to leave. If I got the chance to 'splain it - I believe she'd be OK with it. Then she would probably ask me to buy ARMOUR for my range visits. |
It wouldn't give me a negative perception. I think more places should sell body armor. |
| makes sence, if you got into a cab and the cabbie had his seat belt on would you refuse to ride with him because he was expecting an accident. Lots of idiots come into ranges/gun shops, thwe way most of the shops around here work you could buy a mag and ammo for a gun they have in the counter, go out to your car and load. Then walk back in a ask to see the gun your mag fits, instant loaded firearm. Range/gunstore employees without sit awaresness are probably more of a porblem than the smart ones wearing armor. |
