To see a particular event in real time, what would you want to see?  Me, watching the pyramids being built and how the Incas joined those tight fitting stones.  That would do for a start, how about you?

Right off the top of my head, the comet impact on the North American ice cap 12,700 BC., and then the years following.
It would hopefully shed some light on a lot of ancient mysteries.

The signing of the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

I'd shout out to Jefferson to underline the whole Second Amendment and add something like "period, end of it, no further additional restrictions of any kind, and fuck Gavin Newsome"

I am a huge history nerd - so many things I'd want to see. The Battle of Gaugamela, the building of the Pyramids, building of the Sphinx, Christ, any given day in Pax Romana, Baghdad before it was sacked by the Mongols, Constantinople before it was sacked, any given day in early Athens.

If I could only go back once, I'd just spend time with my grandfather.

My 13 year old son - "It wouldn't be the pyramids being built, because I don't want to see a bunch of sweaty people".

The funny thing is, I didn't tell him what OP said.  It's the first thing that came out of his autistic mouth

His real answer - "1920s to see how we screwed up and caused the Great Depression"

My 14 year old daughter - "The 2016 Ghost concert in Orlando Florida"

My wife - "1940s America to see how the home front faired"

Set up a SAW overlooking Muhammad's intitial "great battle of Badr". It was actually a caravan robbery because he was a murderous thief.

His lopsided killing spree there cemented belief that he really was devinely sanctioned. Some quick work on a few there would have saved the whole world of a lot of future misery, slavery, torture, murder and pedophilia.

I'm a simple man.
I'd just like to travel back in time to meet and spend some time with both of my grandfathers, both of them passed away naturally while I was a very small child, and I have absolutely no remembrance of either of them.
