Morning Everyone.
I know he is the founder of front sight and is a (self proclaimed) level 10000 firearms ninja, but what is this guys deal? Does he just hang out at his mansion and watch movies of Chuck Norris? Does he even practice as a Chiropractor anymore? What does he do? His adds are cheesy, his pictures are right out of the 80's and I have never seen a current picture of him. I get the creeper vibe from him... |

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Iggy Pizza always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Iggy?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail." |

His business had a model that I never really could get into –– build condos and houses waaaaaaaaaaay out in the middle of the desert, with the "amenity" of some serious shooting ranges all around the development, and then sell them at premium prices. It was working during the dot.com boom, but then some contractor screwed him over really badly, delaying the project, and the dot.com bust wiped out a few pennies in people's wealth so they weren't so eager to buy in any more.
Then, some people decided to make issue of his being in a cult group and hurt his business some more. Then, the 2006-2011 real estate collapse hit. Overall, I'd say he's done his best to keep his business going, and I sympathize with him. If he really is a Scientologist, I feel even more sorry for him. |

Don't know, but he is a "Four Weapons Combat Master" and his mustache is more awesome than Massad Ayoob's. |

He looks like Borat. I don't know much about him, but I love Fronsight. A few years ago I got a free certificate to go down and do a 4 day class, so I went and did it. It was better than Gunsite's class. I liked it enough I bought a membership for my wife and I. We've been going 3 or 4 times a year now. There is no talk of Scientology or upgrading memberships when I go, it's just lots of range time with awesome instructors. I frankly don't care what kind of property he wants to build as long as the quality stays where it's at.
ETA: OK...all you haters...start the insults |

My only complaint was the lack of instructors/student ratio. |

If he really is a Scientologist, I feel even more sorry for him. He was/is a scientologist? correct? I really have no idea. From what I saw of the "controversy", there was one person waging an internet slur campaign against him, based on ranting and screaming that he was one on every message board the person could get access to. I don't see how that affects his business, nor why it should matter, any more than Romney being a Mormon or JFK being Catholic. I went to one of Front Sight's "free Uzi class / condo marketing session" things about ten years ago, and there was no mention of anything beyond "here, try the Uzi!" and "wanna buy a condo?" If you want to take a shooting class, his place seemed well-run. If you want to buy a condo in Pahrump, that's your choice. Shitting on someone's business because of his religious (or pseudoreligious) affiliation is pretty nasty, IMHO. |

I've taken a couple FS classes and enjoyed the training. The day to day ops didn't mention any other religion than safety & the need for training. Some of the techniques lag behind more modern shooting, but they are much better than trying to use a Camp Perry or gangsta stance in fast & accurate shooting.
The use of the deputy shooting video for marketing was not a tasteful choice. The video merits respectful discussion in training for mindset, but not as a sales pitch. Dr. Piazza seems to really like the title of Doctor. Far more than most MDs or DOs I know. I suspect he's been called doctor more times than I have. Maybe I went to the wrong doctor school. ![]() Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

He wishes. That guy told me he was going to have me investigated and arrested for treason or some stupid shit a few years back. Apparently, he is a guy "you don't want to fuck with buddy."

Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile This..I HAD planned to do some courses at FS..When i sent Iggy an email detailing why I thought it was in poor taste, the answer i got back from him was, shall we say, Less than cordial. I'll spend my training dollar elsewhere. |

Then the next week he followed up with how much of a positive response he had received from touting the murder of a deputy to get peoples dollars. I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire. |

Quoted: Quoted: Aren't they an Industry Partner here? ETA: I see that they are. They are but I don't think they post much. At least they didn't when I checked a few years back Do they pay for that slot? If they do, I was wondering if the rules were different for paying Industry Partners. I guess not to bad mouth them if they are financially supporting the web site. I don't know, so I'm asking. |

What do you mean by he refused to accept the reasons? IIRC, Deputy Dinkheller had recently been chastised for claims that he had used excessive force in a prior situation. His COC effectively set him up for the situation in the video by making him fear punishment for defending himself. Those LEOs here undoubtedly know more about it than I. It was a tragic event that cost the life of that young officer. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Good question. ? I asked some employees if Frontsight was a member here and they weren't sure. I've never seen anything on this site and have looked. As far as the video in question goes, I never saw the video there. I asked my father in law, who has been a member for 4 or 5 years, if he has seen it. He hasn't either. We've both seen the video but just not at Frontsight. |

holy shit. Can't breathe.
