I had my first In and Out burger in San Marcus, TX today. Whataburger is much better. However, I did like the onion slice they served with it. It was greasy but good. Not all Whataburgers are better, you have to find one that serves the burger right off the grill instead of pulling a pre cooked one out of the drawer above the grill like they do in New Braunfels.

INO is better in every way.
Get it animal style next time. Whata has better breakfast, as INO has none |

Never had Whataburger, but I can't imagine it's better than In-N-Out because In-N-Out is perfection.
|
|
Around here, Whataburger sucks. We don't have In and Outs here, but when I go to Texas, I always stop by.
|
|
I was born in Cali, grew up in Tx. I pick In-N-Out. Whataburger is good, but hit and miss. In-N-Out nails it every time, and the fries are unbeatable. |
|
In and Out blows...overhyped, crappy food. I've had two experiences with In and Out. The first in Vegas and it was okay, nothing of note. My final trip was in San Diego and the burger was bland, the fries tasted like styrofoam, and pepto would have tasted better than the shake.
Of course there were a ton of people in there. I think that they were just afraid to admit to one another than the food sucks for fear of being "uncool." Have no experience with Whataburger. |
|
I think they're both kinda overhyped. I mean, they're good, but a good hamburger or cheeseburger ain't exactly rocket surgery.

|
I haven't been able to try In N Out yet, they've been in San Antonio at least a year now and every time I go the line is out to the street. Whataburger has gotten to the point where it depends on which one you go to how good it is.

We tried In&Out while we were in Las Vegas for my sister's wedding and all of us thought it sucked.
|

Apples and oranges. They're both examplary examples of their respective type of burger.
I prefer Whataburger only because I grew up with them and it comes standard with mustard. (I did not include fries in this commentary - I wouldn't hit a dog in the ass with a basket of In & Out fries. But I'll give 'em a pass on account of those peppers they give away.) |

You guys never compare size and price. Without that it's worse than threads without pics.....and they're useless.
Make arfcom burger comparisons great again....... |

I tried Whattaburger in Houston back in August. It was ok. Maybe a bad location/time. It was late. I would rate an everyday McDouble better then that particular burger.
I'm not In N Out worshipper, but it's always been really good. I don't go out of my way to get it though. |

Whataburger has my favorite fast food fries (and they put crack in their ketchup...) In-N-Out has the better burger, when ordered correctly. And above all else, they're consistent as hell. Same burger no matter where I go, or what state I'm in. Whataburger has a LOT more choices in toppings for your burger, if you're into that kind of thing. I will always like In N Out because the Snyders were/are family friends. One of the Snyders was our family physician. That and they put Bible verses on stuff which in these crazy PC days is like a FUCK YOU to the rest of corporate America.

WhataBurger makes a better meat Sandwich. In n Out makes a better burger.
|
|
Maybe the 5 or so in and outs I have been to were sub par, but whataburger defeats them in every way possible.

In n out makes a burger that is the equal of whataburger. But in n outs fries are tasteless styrofoam, too much vegetable oil taste not enough fry flavor. So I have to pick whataburger.

I'm think both a way overrated, but In-N-Out is definitely better. Most of my Whataburger experience was in Jacksonville, but my most recent was in El Paso...

I'll stick with Whataburger...love the sweet and spicy bacon burger, and the A! thick and spicy burger...
Patty Melt and Monterey Melts are awesome too... Sorry just wasn't impressed with In and Out that much when I've tried them.... |

You either love or hate In and Out. Animal FRIES for the win.

Do you actually believe that nonsense? I rather doubt it. I suspect this is a brand or regional loyalty thing with an odd dash of Projection. Sort of like Android owners who claim that no one that owns an iPhone actually wants it since it is inferior in every way to every Android. Rather, they ALL put up with a terrible product because they can't admit to themselves or one another that they bought a crappy product simply because they think it's "cool". Your claim is identical. So all those people, rather than go to any one of dozens of other choices, force themselves to eat there because they think their personal choice of burgers and fried makes them "hip" or "cool"? Who are they impressing with their hamburger chain choice? Now tell me, does that seem likely to you or is it perhaps an odd bit of projection on your part? ETA: I prefer 5 Guys to In and Out. Of course, that's purely subjective personal preference. I hope I have not offended any snowflakes out there with my personal opinion. You know what's weird? You can really like something without it automatically meaning that everything else sucks! GD picks the weirdest things to have existential crises over. Quoted:
