My problem is not that I can't do sit-ups. I can do them until the cows come home. My problem is that my pace isn't where I would like it to be.

Here is today's sets (30 sec each) [very minimal break between sets to record count and reset timer]
1. 13
2. 14
3. 16
4. 15
5. 16
6. 15
7. 16
8. 16

I'm not too upset with set 1––had I stretched better in advance, that would have been on par with the others.

However, I would really like to be at 20+.

Any routines or techniques  that I could use to help improve my?

Dont do sit-ups unless you have to.

If you do, bounce.  Have your elbows out at the bottom and throw them together at the top.

I can do about 80 in two minutes.

I did 81 in two minutes during my PAST on Friday, which is actually lower than I wanted.

Combat Jack gives a great suggestion about using your elbows for momentum (assuming OP is talking about sit-ups with interlocking fingers behind the head).

Make sure your legs are a foot apart and your legs are making 90 degrees.

And I hate to tell you, but the best way is to just do a lot of sit-ups. If it's sprinting that gives you trouble, you might want to improve the strength of your core by weightlifting.

Also do your best to improve your physical wellbeing in all things (push ups, running, etc. with high intensity intervals). It should help you with sprints in all things.
